Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Coordinator

Oxnard, CA

$25.00+/hr


Position Summary:

As a Shipping and Receiving Coordinator you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient flow of goods within our distribution center. You will manage both inbound and outbound shipments, optimize inventory, and contribute to the smooth running of logistics operations, supporting the overall supply chain process.

 


This position is an opportunity for someone who thrives in a logistics and distribution setting, working closely with both warehouse staff and external partners to ensure smooth and efficient logistics operations.

 


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Shipment Coordination: Manage and track incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure timely delivery and accurate receipt of goods.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain precise inventory records, conduct regular stock checks, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Warehouse Layout Optimization: Maximize space utilization and operational efficiency by organizing the warehouse layout effectively.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to manage transportation and logistics activities.
  • Documentation: Prepare shipping documents, labels, and packaging materials for all outbound shipments.
  • Issue Resolution: Monitor transportation schedules, address any issues promptly, and communicate updates to stakeholders.
  • Safety and Cleanliness: Implement and uphold best practices for warehouse safety, cleanliness, and organization.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and act on opportunities to improve logistics processes and reduce costs.

Education/Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in logistics coordination, ideally in a distribution warehouse setting.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and inventory management systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and prioritize efficiently.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations, supply chain management, and transportation logistics.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
  • Strong initiative and reliability, with the ability to use experience and judgment to achieve goals.
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently in a high-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to handle tasks with minimal supervision and adapt to changing priorities.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is primarily conducted in a warehouse and office environment.
  • Physical demands include frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, and stooping.
  • May require walking between office and warehouse multiple times throughout the day.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Safety footwear is required; no open-toed or rubber shoes allowed.

Compensation

$20.00 - $25.00Per Hour
