Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Accounting Assistant/Payroll Clerk for our client in Bakersfield, CA. You will be responsible for supporting the firm’s financial operations, handling payroll, and assisting with daily accounting tasks. The ideal candidate will be organized, efficient, and experienced in managing financial records with confidentiality and accuracy.

Part Time/Temp to Hire 

Pay Rate: $20.00/HR

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Perform day-to-day banking duties including deposits, withdrawals, and account monitoring.
  • Complete bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial records.
  • Assist with accounts payable and receivable tasks.
  • Maintain accurate financial files and records.
  • Support management with financial reporting as needed.
  • Communicate with vendors, banks, and staff regarding financial matters.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and accounting standards.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with QuickBooks preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles required.
  • Prior bookkeeping or payroll experience is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and workload.
