Exact Staff is hiring a Building Maintenance Technician for a prestigious private higher education institution in the Claremont area. This is a great opportunity for a skilled maintenance professional who enjoys working in a campus environment and takes pride in maintaining safe, functional, and well-maintained facilities. The ideal candidate has strong experience in electrical, plumbing, and general building maintenance, with a focus on providing excellent service to the campus community. This is a long-term, temp-to-hire opportunity with steady work and weekly pay.

This position is ideal for individuals with commercial building maintenance, facilities, or general trades experience.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment
• Perform plumbing repairs, electrical repairs, and basic mechanical maintenance
• Maintain and service HVAC systems, lighting, controls, and commercial equipment
• Prioritize and complete work orders across the campus facilities team
• Use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely
• Respond to emergency maintenance needs, including after-hours, weekend, or on-call assignments as needed
• Provide strong communication and customer service to the campus community

Qualifications:

• 1–3+ years of commercial building maintenance experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and general facility maintenance
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing building systems and equipment
• Familiarity with HVAC systems, lighting, controls, and commercial equipment
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks independently
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Flexibility to work after-hours, weekends, or on-call assignments as needed

Pay, Schedule, and Location:

• Pay Rate: $25.00/hour, DOE
• Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday
• Shifts Available: First Shift, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Location: Claremont, CA
