Northridge, CA | Full-Time | First Shift (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)

Exact Staff is hiring a Commercial Carpenter for one of our big clients in the Northridge area. Our client is a member of the film/TV industry, specializing in building sets for game shows, live talk shows, and other productions. As the Commercial Carpenter, you'll work alongside the lead set designer, senior carpenter, and other technicians to build set materials to client specifications. This is a steady, full-time opportunity with weekly pay in a fast-paced production environment.

This position is ideal for individuals with construction, fabrication, or carpentry experience.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Load, unload, and transport materials, equipment, and set pieces from the studio to the trucks
• Utilize hand tools to cut, shape, and assemble lumber, plywood, and other materials to construct set pieces
• Analyze blueprints and schematics from the art department to ensure accurate builds
• Help lead the team to be directed on other projects that may occur
• Perform tool maintenance and storage
• Adhere to shifting priorities and last-minute design changes
• Adhere to all safety standards, including consistent use of safety equipment
• Occasionally assist with set-up and tear-down of sets prior to transport

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of previous construction, fabrication, or similar experience
• Basic knowledge of carpentry standards, construction methods, and use of a tape measure
• Familiarity with common building materials, such as lumber, drywall, and fasteners
• Experience using power tools, including drills/drivers, circular saws, and jigsaws
• Basic fabrication experience
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics
• Experience working with plywood or sheet metal preferred

Pay, Schedule, and Location:

• Pay Rate: $26.00-28.00 per hour, DOE
• Schedule: Full-Time
• Shifts Available: First Shift, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Location: Northridge, CA
