Job Description:

The Component Allocator is responsible for managing and organizing components for production jobs, ensuring all required materials are accurately allocated, available, and meet job specifications. This role involves close coordination with the Component Lead and Production Planner and requires attention to detail, inventory management, and adherence to safety and quality standards.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Component Lead and Production Planner to understand component requirements for current and upcoming jobs.
  • Assist in managing inventories, tooling, and supplies, ensuring stock is adequate and available for production needs.
  • Monitor materials and notify the Component Lead when additional items are required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the workspace.
  • Verify that components conform to job specifications.
  • Inventory new and return-to-stock components by entering data into Filemaker.
  • Inspect incoming component deliveries for accuracy against purchase orders.
  • Review and update Component Allocation Sheets as necessary.
  • Ensure raw materials, tooling, and other components are allocated to designated staging areas.
  • Overtime authorization is required; repeated refusal to work overtime is a violation of company policy.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred: Experience in a warehouse or similar environment.

  • Proficiency in English language structure, spelling, and grammar, with strong communication skills.
  • Understanding of raw materials, production processes, and quality control.
  • Familiarity with company Management Information System (MIS).
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.

  • Organizational: Keep components and inventory organized to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Communication: Effectively share information with team members and supervisors.
  • Attention to Detail: Focus on accuracy in all tasks, including data entry and quality checks.
  • Time Management: Prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines.
  • Adaptability: Adjust to changing job requirements and demands.
  • Problem Sensitivity: Recognize potential issues and resolve them promptly.

Abilities:

  • Lift, move, or push up to 35 lbs unassisted; lift up to 40 lbs using equipment or assistance.
  • Perform physical activities, including bending, kneeling, twisting, and standing for extended periods.
  • Maintain steady hand coordination for tasks requiring precision.
  • Perform repetitive upper body motions and have good close-range vision for inspecting details.
  • Coordinate own workflow with the overall production process.
