Location: Ceres, California
Employment Type: Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire
Schedule: 100% On-Site | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:30 PM
Compensation: $44.47- $47.12/hour (Depending on Experience)
Exact Staff is hiring a Customer Service Manager for a privately held beverage and consumer packaged goods company. This role will lead the customer service team and oversee customer orders, distributor relationships, pricing, inventory coordination, shipments, and issue resolution.
The Customer Service Manager will work closely with Sales, Finance, Logistics, Warehousing, and Production to ensure excellent customer service, accurate order processing, and smooth day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Order Management
- Lead, train, and manage the Customer Service team.
- Oversee customer and distributor orders from entry through shipment and invoicing.
- Ensure orders are accurate, timely, and meet service expectations.
- Resolve escalated customer, distributor, and sales issues.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers, distributors, sales teams, and internal partners.
- Communicate order status, product availability, and shipping updates.
Sales, Pricing & Commercial Support
- Partner with Sales and Finance on pricing, discounts, promotions, samples, and customer programs.
- Support new product launches, pricing changes, promotions, and distributor updates.
- Prepare and analyze sales and customer service reports.
- Support month-end order, shipment, and invoicing processes.
Inventory, Logistics & Distribution
- Work with Warehouse, Logistics, Production, and Inventory teams to manage product availability, backorders, allocations, and shipments.
- Coordinate deliveries and special shipping requirements.
- Maintain accurate customer, shipping, and ordering information.
- Monitor and address inventory and shipment issues that may impact customers.
Process Improvement & Reporting
- Improve customer service processes, procedures, and workflows.
- Track service metrics such as order accuracy, fill rates, processing times, and customer issues.
- Identify problems and implement solutions to improve efficiency and service.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings and provide customer service updates and recommendations.
- Support other operational projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- 5–7 years of experience in customer service, order management, sales operations, or supply chain.
- At least 2 years of supervisory or management experience.
- Experience in wine, beverage, CPG, food and beverage, or distribution preferred.
- Experience working with distributors, customers, sales teams, warehouses, and logistics partners.
- Experience with ERP/order management systems such as IFS preferred.
- Experience with CRM, EDI, customer portals, and reporting tools preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
- Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of wine products and distribution channels preferred.
- Ability to handle confidential information and represent the company professionally.
- Must be available to work 100% on-site
Equipment & Systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with ERP/order management systems preferred.
- Familiarity with CRM, EDI, customer portals, and reporting systems preferred.
- Timekeeping/workforce systems such as ADP or comparable systems, as applicable.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
- Ability to communicate by phone, email, video, and in person.
- Occasionally lift or carry items up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to walk through warehouse and production areas as needed.
- Must be able to work 100% on-site and interact with operational teams.
