Exact Staff is hiring a Director of Quality Control for our client, a leading manufacturer of high-reliability printed circuit boards (PCBs) and advanced electronic assemblies supporting the commercial aerospace and defense industries. Their products are used in mission-critical avionics systems where precision, reliability, and strict regulatory compliance are essential. This individual will lead all quality operations at the Chatsworth manufacturing facility, overseeing the Quality Control department, driving continuous improvement, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and partnering closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Executive Leadership to maintain the highest levels of product quality and customer satisfaction.
This position is ideal for individuals with aerospace, defense, or electronics manufacturing quality leadership experience.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Quality Control department, including inspectors and quality personnel
- Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspections of PCBs, electronic assemblies, components, and finished products
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications, engineering requirements, and internal quality procedures
- Maintain and continuously improve the company's Quality Management System (QMS)
- Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, and Executive Leadership to resolve quality concerns and improve production processes
- Lead investigations into product non-conformances and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Analyze quality metrics and establish measurable goals to reduce defects and increase production efficiency
- Prepare and maintain quality documentation, reports, inspection records, and compliance documentation
- Support customer quality requirements, audits, and corrective action requests
- Participate in internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure inspection equipment and measuring devices are properly utilized and maintained
- Review engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, specifications, and manufacturing documentation to ensure compliance throughout production
- Foster a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the organization
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Quality Management, or a related technical discipline preferred
- 8+ years of Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control experience within aerospace, defense, electronics manufacturing, or other highly regulated environments
- Previous leadership or management experience overseeing Quality teams
- Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems and continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
- Working knowledge of quality inspection equipment, precision measuring instruments, and testing procedures
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and cross-departmental collaboration skills
- Experience supporting customer quality requirements and resolving complex quality issues
- Experience with AS9100, ISO 9001, IPC Standards (IPC-A-600, IPC-A-610, IPC-6012), Root Cause Analysis, CAPA, First Article Inspection (FAI), or Lean Manufacturing highly desirable
Pay, Schedule, and Location:
- Pay Rate: $120,000–$160,000/year, DOE
- Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday
- Shifts Available: First Shift, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
- Location: Chatsworth, CA
