Responsibilities / Qualifications
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Assist with budget preparation, monitoring, and forecasting
- Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, and journal entries
- Support audits and ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards
- Prepare financial statements and budget-related reports
- Monitor revenues and expenditures for budget compliance
- Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to management
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience
- Prior municipal, government, or public sector accounting experience required
- Strong knowledge of governmental accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience with budgeting, audits, and financial analysis
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with accounting software
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working for a city, municipality, or government agency
- Knowledge of GASB standards
- CPA designation is a plus
