Job Description:
Our client is an upstanding
non-profit organization that provides early child-care services to low-income
communities throughout California. They have multiple locations, Chatsworth,
Van Nuys, Arleta, and other locations in the valley, as well as Palmdale and
Lancaster.
We are searching for aspiring and smart Teacher Aides to join our client.
This
is a full-time, temporary position
Regular shift Monday to Friday 7:30 am to 5:45 pm
(Overtime offered)
If
you are not able, hours can be Monday to Friday 8:00 am-4:30 pm
While
under the training and direction of the Teacher, you will be responsible for
supporting activities designed to highlight and stimulate learning in all the
developmental domains, by supporting the parent's involvement in the program
and assisting with the individual goals for the children.
You
will also:
- Provide ongoing assessment of progress and facilitate transition activities into kindergarten.
- Support the curriculum to meet all children's needs, including risk, special needs, gifted, and culturally diverse populations.
- Communicate with the parents regarding the child’s progress and provide educational strategies at school and home.
- Maintain a clean and safe indoor and outdoor environment, ensuring that all toys and classroom equipment are sanitized.
- Prepare the classroom materials to support the appropriate activities in the classroom and at home.
- Support the daily routine and functions of the classroom.
- Maintain confidentiality for all data, records, and other relevant information.
This is what we are looking for in your candidacy:
- You must have at least 12 semester units in Early Childhood Education or Child Development or similar
- Preferably, you have at least 6 months of experience working with families and children in a preschool setting, or other related work experience in child development.
- You hold a valid First Aid and CPR certificate within 30 days of hire.
- You hold and maintain a current California Commission on Teacher Credentialing Child Development Teacher Permit or above based on the CTC Matrix upon hire or apply within 60 days of hire.
- You are open to occasional travel, including meetings, training, and sponsored events.
