Location: Laurel, MD 20723
Description: $31/hr. Position is 100% on site.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (hours can change depending on business needs).
Job Summary
The Inside Sales Specialist role is responsible for maintaining profitable value-add, wholesale, and PRDC business dedicated to the merchandisers at each operating company (OpCo) to provide excellent customer service to each OpCo.
The Inside Sales Specialist serves as the liaison between the OpCo and the value-added and operations departments within the facility.
Supports profitable value-add, wholesale, and PRDC business while ensuring strong communication between each operating company (OpCo) and internal departments.
Plays a key role in maintaining service excellence and operational alignment between OpCo teams and facility departments.
Responsibilities
Keying in orders from each operating company for all value-added and distribution items.
Communicating all orders to each department in time for all cut-offs.
Distributing pick tickets and load sheets to all pullers once orders are complete.
Giving direction to pullers regarding order changes, cross-dock information, and driver schedule changes.
Handling all reporting requests, both scheduled and ad hoc throughout the week.
Maintaining working relationships with all departments to ensure complete, on-time, and accurate loading of outbound trucks, including cross-dock items.
Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with produce managers, produce specialists, sales leadership, and merchandising teams at each servicing location.
Facilitating pricing of all products from value-added departments as well as distribution and ensuring pricing is sent weekly to all interested parties.
Communicating any market issues in a timely manner.
Experience
1 year of sales or operational distribution experience preferred.
Professional Skills
Experience with MS Office.
Strong numeric and alphanumeric data entry skills.
Detail-oriented.
Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
Working knowledge and understanding of distribution and warehousing procedures preferred.
Decisions Made Independently
Pricing on buyouts.
Weekly pricing on distribution items.
Credits under $500.
Rescheduling truck loading to ensure timely completion of orders.
