Job Description:
Our client is one of the largest manufacturers and distributors in the aerospace field, specializing in the creation and fabrication of hydraulic pumps, pressure valves, switches, and sensors for commercial and military aircraft.
We are searching for an eager and smart Jr Quality Control Inspector to join our client's main operation, located in Chatsworth, CA.
HOURS:
This is a full-time, temp-to-hire position. The first shift is from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Keep in mind, our client may ask you to work overtime.
JOB DESCRIPTION
As the Jr Quality Control Inspector, you will be responsible for conducting initial inspections on the newly assembled and purchased items, and ensuring the items match up to the order specifications, found on the blueprints and schematics, as well as customer requirements.
Additionally, other duties include:
· Completing the inspection, work order, and AS91021st Article and test records, reports, and logs, and input all of that into the ERP database
· Utilizing standard inspection equipment, like calipers, micrometers, height gage, and thread gages to conduct the inspections.
· Conducting inspections and tests of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products, and ensuring that those items comply with quality standards as stated in the blueprints.
· Documenting the inspection results and communicating them to the other departments.
· You are also helping to improve the system, so you will identify potential process improvements and make recommendations to get them implemented.
· Participating in training and cross-training programs to develop inspection techniques and QC processes

This is what we are looking for in your candidacy:
- You have at least 3-5 years of previous Quality Control experience
- You are well-versed in QC techniques and principles.
- You know how to read and interpret purchase orders/contracts, drawings, industry standards, and specifications
- You have good mathematics skills, including addition, subtraction, working with common fractions and decimals, and preferably, adept with trigonometry.
- You know how to create reports and send them to management promptly.
- You have great verbal and written communication skills
- It’s a big plus if you are well-versed in Lean Manufacturing concepts
- You are familiar with working under AS9100 and ISO 9000 standard practices
- You work well with others, and you collaborate well in a team.
