Job Description:

Exact Staff is hiring for our client. We are seeking a skilled and dependable Housing Maintenance Worker to help maintain residential properties, housing units, and community grounds. This is a full-time opportunity for an individual with hands-on experience in general maintenance, repairs, and preventative upkeep across multiple trades.

Responsibilities / Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance and repair work in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and general building maintenance
  • Inspect housing units and facilities to identify repair needs and safety concerns
  • Complete preventative and corrective maintenance on residential properties and grounds
  • Respond to work orders and maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and company procedures
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in safe working condition
  • Assist with after-hours or emergency maintenance calls as needed

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1–2 years of maintenance, facilities, or construction experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building systems
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools and power tools
  • Valid California Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to lift, carry, bend, climb, and perform physically demanding work
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in public housing, apartment communities, or government facilities
  • HVAC, plumbing, or electrical certifications
  • Experience using maintenance or work order tracking systems

Pay, Schedule, and Location

  • Pay Rate: $21.00 per hour
  • Schedule: Full-Time
  • Location: California
  • Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire
