Job Description:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Maintenance Supervisor to join our production team at a leading water company in Bakersfield, CA. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and optimal performance of all plant equipment, including automated systems and electrical components. This role focuses on overseeing maintenance, repairs, and improvements while ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
Temp to Hire
Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Pay Rate: $36.00-$40.00
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and direct a team of maintenance personnel, assign tasks and providing technical guidance and training.
- Oversee maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical, mechanical, automation, and refrigeration systems (NH₃).
- Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
- Conduct equipment inspections to ensure proper functionality and safety compliance.
- Manage projects, including installations, upgrades, and equipment expansions.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols, OSHA, EPA, and facility standards, including LOTO and confined space procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments to support plant-wide maintenance and utility operations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and performance data.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong technical knowledge of batching technology, liquid filling equipment, packaging machines, electrical systems, and automation equipment.
- Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics, and blueprints.
- Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems (NH₃) and related safety regulations.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and problem-solving complex equipment issues.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience with CMMS systems a plus.
- Education/Experience: Associate degree or equivalent experience (4+ years in maintenance); minimum 3 years supervisory experience.
- Language: Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 60 lbs.
- Frequent standing, walking, climbing, and exposure to humid conditions, moving machinery, airborne particles, and electrical hazards.
