Job Description:
We’re hiring experienced Medical Billers to join our team in Bakersfield, CA!
- Pay Rate: $19.00 - $24.00/HR
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Position Type: Temp-to-Hire
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide outstanding customer service to resolve patient billing concerns promptly.
- Verify and update insurance information in patient accounts.
- Collaborate with team members to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure accurate claims.
- Assist patients with financial options, including payment plans.
- Support Front Office staff with billing-related questions and improvements.
- Analyze accounts for discrepancies and denial trends to maximize collections.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of medical billing experience (urgent care or family medicine preferred).
- High school diploma or GED required; Medical Billing Certificate preferred.
- Strong understanding of insurance types: PPO, HMO, Medicare, and Medi-Cal.
- Proficient in EMR, practice management systems, claims, and reporting tools.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Valid identification that proves your right to work in the United States
- As a condition of employment, you may be required to pass a drug screen and background check
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
