Exact Staff is seeking for a reliable and motivated Optician/ Optometrist Assistant to join a fast-paced Medical Family Practice Organization in Wasco, CA. If you are looking for steady full-time work, weekly pay, and an opportunity to grow with a strong team, we want to hear from you.

This position is ideal for individuals with excellent customer service skills, knowledgeable in eyewear selection process, maintain inventory management, and experienced in fast paced environments.

What You’ll Be Doing:

·         Assist patients in selecting eyeglass frames, lenses, and contact lenses based on their vision needs.

·         Perform pre-screening tests and prepare patients for examinations conducted by the optometrist.

·         Dispense, adjust, fit, and repair eyeglasses to ensure proper comfort and function.

·         Educate patients on the proper use, insertion, removal, and care of contact lenses.

·         Process optical orders accurately and communicate with laboratories to ensure timely completion.

·         Verify completed eyewear for accuracy before dispensing to patients.

·         Contact patients regarding order status, pickups, or delays.

·         Maintain accurate patient records, invoices, and documentation using the electronic health record (EHR) system.

·         Monitor and maintain inventory of frames, contact lenses, and optical supplies, including ordering and stocking merchandise.

·         Receive, price, and display new optical products.

·         Process payments and maintain basic bookkeeping and billing records.

·         Keep the optical dispensary clean, organized, and fully operational.

·         Open and close optical equipment according to established procedures.

·         Assist with training new staff members and support daily department operations.

·         Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, company policies, and all applicable regulations.

·         Deliver exceptional customer service while promoting a welcoming, professional, and inclusive environment for all patients.

·         Perform additional duties as assigned to support the clinic and optometrist needs.

 

Qualifications:

·         Must have a high school diploma or GED

·         Formal training from a vocational school or an accredited program

·         Have Basic math Skills  

·         Ability to work under pressure 

·         Knowledge of medical terminology through education or training.

·         Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

·         Previous experience as an Optometrist Assistant or Optician preferred.

 

Pay, Schedule, and Location

• Pay Rate: $22/HR
• Schedule: Full-Time
• Shifts Available: Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM
• Location: Wasco, CA
