Exact Staff is hiring for our client, a respected manufacturer of high-quality lighting systems used in theaters, opera houses, and entertainment venues worldwide.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Order Entry Specialist to join their growing operations team in Carpinteria, CA. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with customers, processing orders, improving systems, and contributing to a collaborative team environment.

This temp-to-hire position offers long-term growth potential for individuals who demonstrate strong performance and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Process customer purchase orders accurately and efficiently
• Review and verify billing, project, product, and commission information submitted by the sales team
• Enter all customer purchase orders received by 3:00 PM on the same business day
• Maintain productivity standards while processing approximately 50–75 orders daily
• Provide excellent customer service and follow up with customers regarding order status
• Research and retrieve historical order information for internal team members as needed
• Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend operational enhancements
• Troubleshoot order-related issues and develop solutions to improve workflow efficiency
• Maintain accurate records and documentation throughout the order entry process

Qualifications

• Associate degree, technical school certification, or higher education preferred
• 1–3 years of customer service, order entry, administrative, or related experience
• Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
• Ability to learn new software systems and processes quickly
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
• Positive attitude and ability to work effectively within a team environment

Pay, Schedule, and Location

Location: Carpinteria, CA
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Position Type: Full-Time, Temp-to-Hire
