Job Description:
We are hiring for our client, a leader in anodizing, electroplating, and advanced surface engineering serving aerospace, defense, medical, and commercial industries. With over 25 years of experience and Nadcap certification, we specialize in enhancing corrosion resistance, durability, and appearance of metal and plastic components.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Process Engineer to design, improve, and support plating and chemical processing operations. This is a hands-on role working closely with production, quality, and laboratory teams to improve yields, reduce defects, and scale new processes.
This is an excellent opportunity for new graduates, early-career engineers, or internationally trained professionals looking to gain real-world manufacturing experience. Training is provided.
Process & Production
- Maintain and optimize metal and composite plating lines
- Troubleshoot defects such as adhesion loss, thickness variation, and blistering
- Design racks, fixtures, and current density controls
- Conduct engineering trials and process experiments
- Analyze production data and yields using Excel
- Collaborate with chemists to maintain bath chemistry
Quality & Compliance
- Support Nadcap audits and internal quality programs
- Update process documentation and shop travelers
- Verify inspections and testing (XRF, thickness, passivation, etc.)
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
Environmental & Safety
- Support wastewater treatment and hazardous waste compliance
- Assist with operator training and safe chemical handling
- Maintain environmental and regulatory documentation
Team & Customer Support
- Train and support operators and inspectors
- Communicate technical updates with customers
- Collaborate with supervisors and leadership to meet production goals
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (completed or in progress), or equivalent experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working in a production/manufacturing environment
- Willingness to learn plating and chemical processes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Manufacturing or laboratory experience
- Proficiency in Excel or data analysis
- Familiarity with ISO or Nadcap quality systems
- Spanish/English bilingual
