Northridge, CA | Full-Time | 1st Shift – 8 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday

We are hiring for one of our big clients in the Northridge area. Our client is a member of the film/tv industry, specializing in building sets for game shows, live talk shows, and other smaller productions.

As the Production Carpenter, you will be working with the lead set designer, the senior carpenter, and other technicians to get the set materials built, per client specifications.

What You’ll Be Doing:

·         Load, unload, and transport materials, equipment, and set pieces from the studio to the trucks

·         Utilize hand tools to cut, shape, and assemble lumber, plywood, and other materials to construct the set pieces

·         Analyze the blueprints and schematics from the art department to make sure everything comes out correctly.

·         Perform tool maintenance and storage

·         Adhere to shifting priorities and last-minute design changes

·         Adhere to all safety standards, including always wearing safety equipment

·         Occasionally assist in the set-up and tear-down of the sets, before transport.

Qualifications:

·         You have at least 1+ years of previous construction or fabrication, or other similar positions.

·         You have basic knowledge of carpentry standards and construction knowledge and methods

·         You know how to utilize a tape measure

·         You know common building materials, like lumber, drywall, and fasteners.

·         You know how to utilize power tools, like drills/drivers, circular saws, jigsaws, and others.

·         You have basic fabrication experience

·         You can read blueprints and schematics

·         Preferably, you know how to work with plywood or sheet metal

Pay, Schedule, and Location

• Pay Rate: 22-24 per hour
• Schedule: Full-time
• Shifts Available: 1st Shift (Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm)
• Location: Northridge, CA
