Quality Control Associate – Customer Fulfillment Center

• Location: 100 Ikea Way, Perryville, MD 21903
• Shift: 1st Shift
• Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday
• Hours: 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM 
• Pay Rate: $15.50 an hour 
• Temp to Hire 

As a Quality Control Associate in our Customer Fulfillment Center, you play a key role in ensuring product quality, accuracy, and customer satisfaction. By verifying product condition, identifying defects, and upholding company standards, you directly support efficient operations and help reduce unnecessary costs while maintaining a strong commitment to sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine quality inspections on inbound and outbound products to ensure compliance with company standards.
• Respond to identified damages or discrepancies in a timely manner to minimize operational impact.
• Verify and document detected product defects, ensuring accurate reporting in company systems.
• Safely operate tools, equipment, and machinery relevant to quality control processes.
• Ensure a safe, organized, and productive flow of goods within assigned QC areas.
• Complete all quality-related tasks following IKEA Standards, guidelines, and safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.
• Collaborate with co-workers to support strong IKEA culture and a welcoming, inclusive workplace.

Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in quality control, inspection, or material handling preferred.
• Intermediate computer proficiency (data entry, scanning systems, reporting tools).
• Skilled in using basic hand tools and inspection equipment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
• High attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability.

 

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, sit, stand, and walk for the duration of the shift.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely and repeatedly.
