Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Service Technician specializing in commercial refrigeration and restaurant equipment to join our client's growing team. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with strong potential for long-term employment based on performance. The role involves servicing, installing, and repairing commercial refrigeration systems and kitchen equipment for restaurant and food service clients throughout California.
The Service Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, installing, and maintaining commercial refrigeration equipment and restaurant kitchen systems. The ideal candidate performs high-quality work safely, efficiently, and professionally while delivering excellent customer service in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel to customer locations to install, troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and maintain commercial refrigeration equipment and restaurant kitchen systems
- Diagnose and repair walk-in coolers/freezers, reach-in refrigerators, prep tables, and related refrigeration components
- Ensure all work meets company quality and safety standards
- Complete required service documentation accurately and communicate open issues with the Service Manager, Owner, and Dispatcher
- Participate in departmental meetings and provide feedback from field visits regarding equipment performance, quality issues, and improvement opportunities
- Provide professional communication and support to customers
- Work overtime and weekends as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience servicing and repairing commercial refrigeration equipment
- Experience with restaurant kitchen equipment and food service environments strongly preferred
- EPA Certification preferred
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and documentation
- Strong troubleshooting, refrigeration, and mechanical skills
- Ability to explain equipment operation and technical issues to customers when needed
- Strong organization, prioritization, and time management skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Professional, confident, and able to take initiative while also following direction
