Job Description:

We are currently hiring a skilled Sanitation Worker for a well-known agricultural warehouse in Arvin, CA. This position is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing the production equipment and the facility. This position will also disassemble and reassemble the production line and equipment as necessary for cleaning.

Temp to Hire

Rotating Schedules 3:30am-12:00pm

Pay Rate: $17.50/HR


Job Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) or equivalent
  • 6 months to one-year sanitation experience in cleaning food industry equipment
  • Previous sanitation experience within a warehouse environment - preferred
  • Must be able to use correct chemicals for cleaning and sanitizing situations
  • Ability to read and understand documents such as safety rules, cleaning schedules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other employees of the organization.
  • Technical abilities - preferred
  • Must pass pre-placement drug/alcohol screen, physical and functional capacity evaluation

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Complete day-to-day cleaning and sanitation work tasks
  • Works as a member of the sanitation team to clean the general plant area and equipment using the following tools: broom, brushes, spray bottles, mop and ringer, squeegee, water gun, air gun and vacuum
  • Communicate with all food safety & quality issues that are encountered throughout daily operations to sanitation lead/supervisor for corrective action to be taken
  • Conduct visual inspections and ATP Bio-Contamination Testing
  • Executes all Sanitation policies and procedures in a productive and efficient manner
  • Responsible for communication with Sanitation Lead/Supervisor to get updated weekly task information
  • Responsible for partnering with others, sharing knowledge, skills, and information within the team and across functional areas
  • Responsible for obtaining daily cleaning schedule from sanitation lead and for cleaning equipment and areas per schedule. Cleaning and sanitation tasks are to be done correctly to maintain product safety
  • Before cleaning any production line, the employee checks working area and informs the Supervisor of any equipment missing parts, any repairs and/or maintenance issues
  • Responsible for cleaning equipment and areas so they are free of debris to meet Sanitation standards
  • Uses industrial strength cleaners, degreasers, and sanitizer to clean factory equipment and general plant area (chemical titration)

 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for assisting production with cleaning production lines when there is a product change to ensure the production line is free of allergens
  • Operates machinery such as: floor scrubber, high pressure washers, Forklift, and Man Lift
  • Coordinates with maintenance personnel and other sanitation crew the dismantling of production line and equipment in preparation for cleaning
  • Disassembles and reassembles the production line and equipment as necessary for cleaning. Removes and replaces equipment as needed to accommodate production set-up requirements
  • •Cleans chemical room, process floor dry goods area and other work areas
  • Operate power scrubber, sweeper walk behind scrubber and another warehouse equipment
  • Clean warehouse walls, floors, racking, doors, etc.
  • Clean facility building, grounds, lighting, parking lots, etc.
  • Sanitize restrooms, offices, break rooms, and locker rooms
  • Maintain warehouse in a clean and safe working environment
