We are looking for Shipping Specialists who are detail-oriented, organized, and proficient in both shipping operations and computer systems. In this role, you will be integral in ensuring our products are shipped accurately and on time. The ideal candidate will have experience in shipping and receiving and a strong understanding of order processing. This position offers a competitive salary and a consistent first shift schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shipping and Receiving: Manage incoming and outgoing shipments, verifying accuracy and quality, and ensuring proper packaging and labeling.
- Order Processing: Utilize computer systems to process and track customer orders, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment.
- Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining inventory levels, performing stock checks, and reporting discrepancies.
- Packaging and Labeling: Carefully pack items, select appropriate materials, and accurately label shipments.
- Shipping Documentation: Complete all necessary shipping documents (bills of lading, packing lists, labels) according to company and regulatory standards.
- Quality Control: Conduct quality inspections on products prior to shipping.
- Communication: Coordinate shipping schedules and resolve issues by working with team members, customers, and carriers.
- Safety and Compliance: Follow safety guidelines, especially when operating equipment or handling hazardous materials.
- Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain shipping equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks to ensure smooth operations.
- Data Entry: Record shipping and inventory information in computer systems and generate necessary reports.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in shipping and receiving, preferably in a warehouse or distribution center setting.
- Proficiency in using computer software for order processing and inventory management.
- High attention to detail and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of shipping regulations and safety standards is advantageous.
- Certification to operate forklifts or relevant equipment may be required.
