Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Ward Clerk to support nursing staff and medical teams in a senior care environment.
This is a temporary full-time assignment with one of the leading non-profit organizations in the greater Los Angeles area, recognized for its dedication to high-quality senior care services.

- Note: Final candidates must pass a required PPD screening in accordance with healthcare regulations.
Location: Reseda, CA
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday – Friday (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM; flexible start
time between 7:00–9:00 AM, 8-hour shifts)
Pay: $21.75/hour
Key Responsibilities
Medical Records & Documentation
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical and administrative records.
- Prepare, update, and organize patient charts, reports, and forms.
- Ensure correct labeling, headings, and resident identification data.
- Support admission, transfer, and discharge documentation processes.
Chart & Filing Management
- Prepare charts for physician visits and maintain logbooks.
- Organize and manage lab results, x-rays, consult notes, and other medical documents.
- Perform regular audits and keep records current and compliant.
Administrative & Clerical Support
- Photocopy, distribute, and manage forms according to company protocols.
- Greet and assist visitors, respond to phone inquiries, and direct individuals as needed.
- Provide general clerical support to ensure efficient daily operations.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with physicians, nurses, and healthcare staff to coordinate patient care.
- Notify supervisors of unusual situations, including discharges without physician orders.
- Communicate professionally with patients, families, and colleagues.
Confidentiality & Compliance
- Uphold patient confidentiality, safety, and residents’ rights at all times.
- Ensure all documentation and processes follow company policies and regulatory standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 1–3 years of administrative experience, preferably in medical administration, billing, or a related field.
- Education: Minimum 8th-grade education; additional coursework in healthcare administration or clerical work is a plus.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare processes preferred.
- Technical Skills: Basic to intermediate computer skills and ability to type ~40 WPM.
- Training: On-the-job training provided; prior experience in healthcare or medical records is highly valued.
- Communication: Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English. Must be professional, patient, and tactful with residents, staff, and families.
- Organization & Flexibility: Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Physical & Emotional Requirements:
- Ability to move throughout the day and occasionally lift/push/pull up to 20 lbs.
- Comfortable working with ill, disabled, elderly, and sometimes upset or hostile individuals.
- Emotional resilience to work in a healthcare environment.
- Other Requirements:
- Willingness to work occasional overtime.
- May assist in resident evacuation during emergencies.

- Facial tattoos or piercings must be covered.
- A professional appearance always expected.
