Job Description:
Our client is an established, multi-specialty primary care medical group with a long-standing tenure, located in the city of Thousand Oaks, offering general practice. We are seeking a highly skilled, reliable, and detail-oriented Medical Assistant with phlebotomy expertise to join our healthcare team.
This position is a combination of medical assistant work and office administration. Namely, you will be responsible for:
· Taking and recording patient vital signs
· Performing basic lab tests and specimen collection
· Prepare patients for exams, and provide education when needed
· Label, process, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing
· Reviewing the patients’ medical history, personal information, and filing them accordingly.
· Sterilize and maintain medical equipment, as well as the treatment area.
· Ensure that all paperwork and safety stands follow HIPAA regulations
· Scheduling patient appointments
· Answering the phones
· Verifying insurance information and assisting with occasional billing-related requests.
This is a full-time, temp-to-hire position—first shift, from 8 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday.

This is what we will be looking for in your candidacy.
· You have at least 1-3 years of previous experience as a Medical Assistant
· Preferably, you possess a CMA or RMA certification.
· You must have a phlebotomy certification
· You know medical terminology, EHR systems, and other clinical procedures
· You know how to maintain patient confidentiality.
· You know how to address patient concerns, reschedule, and conduct the necessary follow-up
· You have great phone skills, and you respond to inquiries promptly
· You know how to manage appointments, schedule appointments, and make reminder calls.
