Job Description:

Our client is a well-established, multi-specialty primary care medical group serving the Thousand Oaks community. They are seeking a professional, organized, and customer-focused Medical Receptionist to join their healthcare team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Medical Receptionist who enjoys working directly with patients, coordinating appointments, verifying insurance information, and supporting a busy medical office.

Schedule

  • Monday through Friday
  • 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Full-Time
  • Occasional overtime may be required
  • Temp-to-Hire Opportunity

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments.
  • Verify patient demographics, insurance coverage, and eligibility information.
  • Assist patients with completing registration and intake paperwork.
  • Answer and direct calls using a multi-line phone system.
  • Conduct appointment follow-up calls and assist with obtaining referrals when needed.
  • Collect co-pays, balances, and process patient payments.
  • Maintain patient records and ensure HIPAA compliance.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, Medical Assistants, billing staff, and office personnel.
  • Update and maintain accurate patient information within the electronic medical records system.
  • Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining a positive patient experience.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of Medical Receptionist experience required.
  • Previous experience working in a medical office, physician practice, clinic, urgent care, or healthcare setting required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of insurance plans including HMO, PPO, Medicare, and commercial insurance preferred.
  • Experience with EHR/EMR systems such as Athena, NextGen, Epic, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms preferred.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced medical environment.
  • Dependable, professional, and punctual.
  • Flexibility to occasionally start earlier based on clinic scheduling needs.
