Job Description
Our client is a well-established, multi-specialty primary care medical group serving the Thousand Oaks community. They are seeking an experienced and dependable Medical Assistant / Phlebotomist to join their healthcare team.
This position combines both clinical and administrative responsibilities and is ideal for a candidate who enjoys patient care, phlebotomy, medical office support, and working closely with healthcare providers in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities
- Take and record patient vital signs accurately.
- Perform venipuncture, specimen collection, and basic laboratory procedures.
- Label, process, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing.
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during patient visits.
- Review patient medical histories and maintain accurate patient records.
- Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information.
- Schedule appointments and coordinate patient follow-up visits.
- Answer incoming calls and assist patients with questions and appointment requests.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure HIPAA compliance.
- Sterilize and maintain medical equipment, treatment rooms, and clinical work areas.
- Assist with billing-related inquiries and insurance verification when needed.
- Provide excellent patient service while supporting physicians and clinical staff.
- Communicate effectively with providers, patients, and administrative personnel.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of Medical Assistant experience required.
- Phlebotomy certification required.
- CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) certification preferred.
- Experience performing venipuncture and specimen collection required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical procedures, and patient care practices.
- Experience using EHR/EMR systems such as Athena, NextGen, Epic, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms preferred.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality requirements.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage appointments, reminder calls, and patient follow-up activities.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Dependable, professional, and team-oriented.

Pay, Schedule & Location
- Pay: $25.00 per hour
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
- Location: Thousand Oaks, CA
- Status: Temp-to-Hire
