Exact Staff is seeking for a reliable and motivated Lead Tractor Mechanic to assist with maintenance repairs on agricultural tractors and/ or heavy equipment in Bakersfield, CA. This position is ideal for individuals with strong hands-on experience with repairing major mechanical components on New Holland tractors, diesel engines, and hydraulic systems.  Individuals should be comfortable taking motors apart, inspecting internal components, identifying mechanical failures, completing rebuilds, and properly reassembling and testing equipment.

What You’ll Be Doing:

·         Perform preventative, corrective, and major mechanical repairs on tractors and agricultural equipment

·         Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems

·         Perform repairments and maintenance on New Holland tractors

·         Remove, disassemble, inspect, repair, rebuild, and reinstall diesel tractor engines

·         Perform engine overhauls and major component replacements

·         Inspect engine components, identify wear or damage, and determine necessary repairs

·         Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, pumps, cylinders, valves, and related components

·         Diagnose and repair transmissions, drivetrains, cooling systems, fuel systems, and other tractor components Use diagnostic tools, testing equipment, hand tools, and power tools to identify equipment issues

·         Read and interpret service manuals, mechanical drawings, schematics, and manufacturer specifications

·         Perform equipment inspections and identify potential maintenance concerns

·         Test tractors and equipment after repairs to ensure proper operation and safety

·         Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and maintenance performed

·         Assist with parts identification, inventory, and ordering as needed Provide technical guidance and support to other mechanics

·         Help prioritize repairs and minimize equipment downtime Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

·         Follow all company safety procedures and manufacturer specifications

Qualifications:

·         Must have a high school diploma or GED

·         3 – 5 years of tractor, agricultural equipment, diesel, or heavy equipment mechanic experience required

·         Previous experience repairing and maintaining agricultural tractors (ex. New Holland tractor) strongly preferred

·         Proven experience taking diesel engines apart and performing inspections, repairs, and rebuilds

·         Experience in performing engine overhauls and major mechanical repairs

·         Strong understanding of hydraulic and mechanical systems

·         Basic to intermediate electrical troubleshooting experience

·         Ability to diagnose equipment problems and determine appropriate repairs

·         Ability to read and understand service manuals, schematics, and technical documentation

·         Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

·         Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop equipment

·         Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and within team environments

Pay, Schedule, and Location

• Pay Rate: $22.00 - $30.00/HR
• Schedule: Full-Time
• Shifts Available: Monday-Friday 6AM-2PM
• Location: Bakersfield, CA
