Job Description:

We are hiring for a Batching Operator, who will be responsible for preparing, measuring, and blending ingredients used in tea manufacturing. This role ensures that production batches are processed accurately, efficiently, and according to company quality and safety standards. The Batching Operator plays a key role in maintaining product consistency and supporting overall production operations.


Pay Range: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour (DOE – Depending on Experience)

Schedule: Must be flexible to work either shift as needed:

    • 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
    • 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM


Key Responsibilities:

  • Weigh and measure raw materials (tea leaves, herbs, flavors, and other ingredients) according to batch formulas and production records.
  • Stage and prepare materials for blending, infusion, and packaging processes.
  • Operate blending equipment, kettles, and other processing machinery used in tea production.
  • Monitor production parameters including temperature, humidity, and processing time.
  • Ensure each batch meets required quality and consistency specifications.
  • Set up, operate, and clean mixing, brewing, and drying equipment.
  • Perform routine equipment checks and basic preventative maintenance.
  • Set up and verify Clean-in-Place (CIP) circuits and tanks (alkaline, acid, rinse).
  • Confirm availability of required chemicals and utilities such as water and steam.
  • Run automatic or manual CIP cycles for:
    • Filling machines
    • Mixing tanks
    • Pipelines and valves
    • Heat exchangers
  • Monitor flow rates, temperatures, chemical concentrations, and cycle times.

 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience in food, beverage, or tea manufacturing preferred.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Basic math and computer skills for batching software and production documentation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years of batching experience in a bottling or manufacturing environment.
  • Forklift experience required and ability to pass company forklift certification.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods (approximately 90% of the workday).
  • Frequent use of hands for handling materials and operating equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and occasionally more with assistance.

 

 

Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to wet, hot, or humid conditions.
  • Regular interaction with moving machinery, hot liquids, and processing equipment.
  • Occasional exposure to airborne particles or fumes.
  • Noise levels may be loud.
